I am a 38 year old single-again mom of a gorgeous 2 year old with cystic fibrosis. I have been a NICU nurse for 14 years, and love taking care of babies and helping families learn and live through the trauma of a sick/premature infant. I previously lost over 100 pounds, and have gained back about 40, so am doing Body for Life to work toward my fitness goals. I actually enjoy lifting wieghts although learning proper form and technique is a challenge sometimes. I enjoy horseback riding, bike riding, swimming and dancing. I love music, but tend to be very ecclectic in my tastes, not picking specific artists or types of music often to be favorites, but specific songs or albums. I love most classical music, almost every "nature sounds" type CD I have heard, older rock, country, some christian (both gospil and rock), and a spattering of almost everything else. I am horrible at identifying artists or even song names most of the time, but know quickly if I like a specific sound. My favorite artist is Boris Vallejo. I was born in California, have lived in several differant states (Nevada, Oregon, Conn, Georgia, Tenn, Iowa, Texas, Ark), and traveled all over the USA. My mother was a truck driver for musical groups and rock bands when I was a teen. My dad rides a Harley Davidson. I am a christian, but very unconventional with it. I beleive God expected us to caretakers of HIS creation, not exploiters and plunderers. Some of my beleifs are almost Wiccan in having a reverence for nature. I enjoy herbology, and plants in general, although I do not have a vast knowledge of it. I love to learn and discover new things, about myself and the world around me. I beleive people should be kind to themselves, other people, animals, the world around them... etc. I love to read, and my favorite authors are Christine Feeham, Anne McCaffery, JD Robb, Piers Anthony, Dean Koontz. I also have eclectic tastes here. I also like westerns, Harry Potter, mysteries, some non-fiction, the occasional biography. I enjoy writing, but have never made the time to do it more than a little here and a little there. I want to learn sign language, spanish, more yoga, pilates, how to salsa dance, and about a million other things. I enjoy making friends, but often get tied up between work and my family and cant always get online regularly. I am currently working part time from home helping people improve the health and safety of their families in addition to my full time job (planning to switch to full time at home and part time at the hospital when the finances allow it).
